Who needs to confirm that they want to be registered as a jobseeker?
Everyone registered as a jobseeker with Nav must confirm that they still want to stay registered every 14 days. You must confirm that you want to stay registered even if you do not receive any kind of financial support.
If you receive financial support from Nav as a jobseeker, you must also submit the Employment Status Form. You can find more information about the Employment Status Form and how it works for each of the different types of financial support here:
- Unemployment benefits – fill in the Employment Status Form
- Work Assessment Allowance – fill in the Employment Status Form
- Employment scheme allowance – fill in the Employment Status Form
If you are unsure about how or why you should fill in the Employment Status Form in your situation, please contact us for help.
How do I confirm that I want to stay registered as a jobseeker?
The confirmation to stay registered as a jobseeker must be submitted electronically.
Remember to wait for the receipt that we have received your confirmation before closing the browser.
If you are unable to log in and submit the confirmation electronically, you can print it and send the Employment Status Form on paper by conventional mail. You will then have to answer more questions than if you log on to nav.no, similar to the old paper form
If you send the paper confirmation, you must keep track of when to submit it and write which 14 days it applies to on the Employment Status Form. You can also contact your Nav counsellor for help in submitting the confirmation.
If you are unsure about how to proceed in your situation, please contact us for help.
